Thiruvananthapuram, October 15: The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) ended its latest round of job applications today. Thousands of candidates rushed to apply before the deadline. The Commission also released new exam tickets, shortlists, and advice lists across several departments.
Applications Close for September Gazette
The final date to apply for posts listed in the Extraordinary Gazette dated 15 September 2025 was today. These included vacancies under Category Numbers 357/2025 to 375/2025 in different government departments.
Among the popular jobs was Company Board Assistant (Category Nos. 363/2025 and 364/2025). As reported by Competitive Cracker, this post offers a steady salary and good benefits in the public sector. Applicants needed a degree and Malayalam language skills.
The deadline also applied to the Junior Clerk and Assistant recruitment. According to FreeJobAlert, this drive attracted large numbers of applicants. Many logged in during the final hours, causing heavy traffic on the PSC’s online portal. Officials said the servers handled the rush without issues.
Admission Tickets and Shortlists
The PSC has released admission tickets for the Legal Assistant Grade II exam in the Law Department, Secretariat. These belong to Category Numbers 481/2024 and 726–728/2024. The test will fill several legal posts in the state Secretariat.
Two new shortlists were also published:
- Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) (Male) – First NCA (Dheevara) in Thrissur (Cat. No. 739/2023)
- Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) – Direct Recruitment in Ernakulam (Cat. No. 743/2024)
The lists were prepared from OMR tests held earlier this year. Those who qualified will attend physical efficiency tests before the final rank list is announced.
Fresh Advice for Several Posts
The Status of Advice section on the PSC website shows new recommendations sent to various departments. Some of the important ones include:
- High School Teacher (Social Science), Kottayam
- First Grade Draftsman / Overseer (Civil), PWD and Irrigation
- Lower Division Typist / Clerk Typist (Ex-Servicemen), NCC/Sainik Welfare, Alappuzha
- Drawing Teacher (Malayalam Medium), Thiruvananthapuram
Officials said pending advice cases are being cleared quickly. Earlier, some lists were delayed due to reservations and district-level adjustments.
Upcoming Exams and Notifications
The Plus Two Level Exam 2025 notification is expected soon. Testbook reported that this will be one of Kerala PSC’s biggest recruitment drives, offering jobs in clerical and field-level posts.
Meanwhile, the 10th Level Preliminary Exam 2025 is already underway. The Studio Assistant test (Category No. 241/2024) took place today, Xylem Learning confirmed. The exam series will continue until late November.
Officials said the Plus Two notification delay is temporary. The new digital rank list system, which manages results and evaluations, is still being fine-tuned.
Digital Upgrades and Candidate Feedback
The PSC has introduced digital certificate verification through university databases. This helps verify educational documents faster and reduces human error.
However, candidates want more clarity on shortlist rules and rank list validity. In Malappuram, Palakkad, and Kollam, training centres report that many students are anxious about result delays.
A PSC trainer in Malappuram said, “The system is improving, but students need faster updates. They depend on these timelines to plan their studies.”
Why It Matters
The Kerala PSC remains the main gateway to government jobs in the state. More than 50 lakh people are registered on its Thulasi portal. Every notification or shortlist affects thousands of families.
For most young people in Kerala, a PSC job means steady income and social security. Each recruitment round sparks statewide interest from coaching centres to family WhatsApp groups.
With the October application window now closed, attention shifts to the upcoming Plus Two Level Exam and the Excise Officer and Legal Assistant results. Both will play a key role in Kerala’s next round of public appointments.
